Bruce Marten has been our pastor since 1996.  Both he and his wife Jenny grew up in and around Federal Way, WA.  They married in 1979 and have since raised two daughters who now have given them six grandchildren (so far).  Prior to ordination, Bruce worked as an ICU nurse for 10 years and Jenny worked as an optometric technician and musician.  After receiving his Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary Bruce and Jenny served the Lord in Germany with Liebenzell Mission for two years and then moved to SE Alaska where he pastored a Native American (Haida) church in Hydaburg for three years.

Bruce: “I enjoy preaching through books of Scripture with occasional topical sermons.  My personal motto is ‘I’m here to help you be successful.’  In other words, I’m here to equip the saints for the work of the ministry based on the Scriptures God has provided us in the Bible.  If anyone asked me what I enjoy the most in church ministry, I’d say preaching and teaching, evangelism, and enjoying the warm company of my brothers and sisters in Christ. “
