I have a great family, great friends, a home that I love and a wonderful relationship with my husband for almost 20 yrs. I have always considered myself lucky in the life that I have had so far. When it came to religion and Christ I was always very skeptical. The Pastor mentioned they had an Alpha class coming up that might help me answer some of the questions that I had. I can count on one hand the times I have been to a church service since 1972. But I thought why not, couldn't hurt, could it? It didn't hurt. Alpha has opened up a whole new world for me. Nicky Gumbel's videos are enlightening, funny, and heartwarming all at the same time. Between the videos and some reading I have done on my own I began to figure out what was missing in my life. Because of ALPHA, Steve & Vicki, friends and all the others in the last ALPHA group, I accepted Christ in my life. It wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done, just ask anyone that was at the beach retreat that ALPHA had! But I did, and as soon as I did, it was like a weight had been lifted and I was free. I feel like I have new friends, a friend in Christ, and it all happened because Pastor Bruce said 'we have this really good class called ALPHA. You should take it.' I'm really glad I did." Nancy |
